* '''AI platform benefits''': Various sectors of society can benefit from AI.
* '''Prevention of Genetic Diseases''': Gene editing technologies like CRISPR offer the ability to correct mutations that cause inherited diseases such as sickle cell anemia, Huntington’s disease, and cystic fibrosis.
* '''Efficiency/Rapidity''': AI services will allow humankind to innovate much more rapidly than ever before.
* '''Advancements in Regenerative Medicine''': Therapeutic cloning can produce genetically matched stem cells, which could be used to grow tissues or even organs for transplantation.
* '''The “black box” problem''': The inscrutability of AI. Understanding how artificial intelligence systems make decisions.
* '''Support for Infertile Couples and Reproductive Autonomy''': Reproductive cloning could offer a path to biological parenthood for individuals or couples who cannot conceive using traditional or assisted reproductive technologies.
* '''Misinformation source''': AI isreally good at making up information that seems credible, which is dangerous as it can generate and spread misinformation more easily than ever before.
* '''Acceleration of Biomedical Research''': Both gene editing and therapeutic cloning provide powerful tools for studying human development and disease.
*'''Potential Cost Savings in Healthcare''': By preventing genetic diseases before birth or treating them at the molecular level, gene editing could reduce the need for long-term medical care, hospitalizations, and drug therapies.

UM is a global non-profit organization which aims to engage interested scholars with differing views in examining important global societal issues and developing publishable respected arguments that can serve as trustworthy sources to individuals, families, organizations, governments, etc., to express their own informed positions on the issue. These positions will continue being re-examined as new evidence becomes available and being re-adjusted in addendum publications so that they can remain relevant and current. UM will know it is doing its job when it gets closest to achieving unification through a robust balance that becomes increasingly difficult to tip. Accessibility and open feedback from the public can evaluate its effect and prevent it from being misled because an important element was left out of consideration. UM embraces valid differences that complement positions on an issue and bring unique contributions to the table. It will seek to remove doubts of authenticity from expert evidence it presents to non-experts through transparency and disclosure of all conflicts of interest. Every defendable vote will count to assess relative positions to the recommendations of the experts, remaining sensitive to the work that still needs to be done to achieve a robust unifying balance. UM is a platform of expert team positions representing entire fields surrounding an issue, with no agenda of profiting in any way (e.g., financially or through influence and power) from its goal to unify people behind the wisest views on the issue. Informed decisions are likely to avert crises or failure to identify elements that should not be lying in the margins. Ethical boundaries promise to keep us in check. The hope is that UM will unify people to seek positions that serve most people rather than a few with special interests. ([[about_UM|Read more...]])

Welcome to Unifiers' Movement,

the Balanced Arguments to Global Issues.

From Today's Controversial Topic

Human Cloning/In Utero Gene Editing, The debate over in utero gene editing and human cloning combines aspects of biotechnology, ethics, and public policy, raising questions about the boundaries of scientific intervention in human life. Doctoral students were asked to take "Pro", "Con", and "In Between" positions regarding the usefulness and harm of Human Cloning/In Utero Gene Editing. (Full topic...)

Today's Topic Discussion
  • Prevention of Genetic Diseases: Gene editing technologies like CRISPR offer the ability to correct mutations that cause inherited diseases such as sickle cell anemia, Huntington’s disease, and cystic fibrosis.
  • Advancements in Regenerative Medicine: Therapeutic cloning can produce genetically matched stem cells, which could be used to grow tissues or even organs for transplantation.
  • Support for Infertile Couples and Reproductive Autonomy: Reproductive cloning could offer a path to biological parenthood for individuals or couples who cannot conceive using traditional or assisted reproductive technologies.
  • Acceleration of Biomedical Research: Both gene editing and therapeutic cloning provide powerful tools for studying human development and disease.
  • Potential Cost Savings in Healthcare: By preventing genetic diseases before birth or treating them at the molecular level, gene editing could reduce the need for long-term medical care, hospitalizations, and drug therapies.
About The Unifiers’ Movement (UM)

UM is a global non-profit organization which aims to engage interested scholars with differing views in examining important global societal issues and developing publishable respected arguments that can serve as trustworthy sources to individuals, families, organizations, governments, etc., to express their own informed positions on the issue. These positions will continue being re-examined as new evidence becomes available and being re-adjusted in addendum publications so that they can remain relevant and current. UM will know it is doing its job when it gets closest to achieving unification through a robust balance that becomes increasingly difficult to tip. (Read more...)

THE UNIFIERS’ MOVEMENT

Can the motivation for a unified problem-solving approach be to work together to leave the world a better place than we found it? A world contained by ethical boundaries, where we regain our trust and reject our fear of each other? A world unified and not divided?

This book proposes a path toward unifying solutions to problems!
